​I started out as an I.A. working with kindergarten students. I spent five years working directly with kidergartens with instruction and remediation. The next five school years I worked with special education students in 3rd - 5th grade. I worked closely with both the special education teacher as well as the general education teacher to help my students be succesfull.

 

 

Retail Sales

​I have worked on and off since 2003 for a unique local shop. I have the responsiblity of having to both open and close the shop on my own. As well as excepting deliveries and helping with inventory. This on top of day to day operation of overseeing sales and customer service.

 

Maryland Conservation Corps AmeriCorps Member

​Aug. 2002 - March 2003 Hagerstown, MD

 

​I worked as part of a 6 person team, helping to maintain state parks in the western part of Maryland. We helped to clear trails, create campsites, and fell trees that posed a danger to visitors.

 

National AIDS Fund Americorps Member

Aug. 2001 - Aug. 2002 Charlotte, NC

 

As part of the 6 person time I had a chance to do work with HIV/AIDS case management, club outreach, prevention education, and hospice care. My main roles through the year were reaching out to community groups and setting up prevention education workshops. I created my own material for these workshops and made my own contacts in the community.
